International Students Award of Excellence Announced
The gratifying news of six international students as the most excellent students from their respective Departments in their academic performance in 2008 Fall Semester was announced.

Mr. Hengky Albert Waroka from the Department of Environment Resources and Ms. Viriya Jony from the Department of Biotechnology came from Indonesia to study in Taiwan in the wake of 2004 Tsunami Catastrophe in South Asia. They paid their way through University thanks to the generous scholarships given by Transworld Institute of Technology (TIT). Perseverant and sanguine, they were not only diligent in their schoolwork but also excelled in study. Hengky and Viriya have set a role model for the rest of TIT students.
Apart from these senior students'exemplary behavior, the freshmen including Mr. Chang Yee Hang (Malaysian), Mr. Chong Jun Liang (Malaysian), and Ms. Lisa Wijaya (Indonesian) ranked top three in the Department of Biotechnology. They studied so hard that they were neck and neck! Also worthy of mentioning is that Ms. Tay Sze Ming (Malaysian) from the Department of Styling and Cosmetology, though a novice learner, won the third prize in a National Fashion Design Contest. To gild the lily, Sze Ming topped the class, achieving excellence both on and off campus!
President Dr. Shu-Hsiang Hsu especially encouraged international students to strive for excellence, thereby motivating all local students to join the learning bandwagon. On the other hand, Dr. Ying-Ni Winnie Chen, Director of the Center for International Affairs (CIA), commended international students for performing well academically by presenting each of them with a cash coupon. International students feel grateful to all faculty and staff members for their untiring guidance and kind support throughout the process of learning in Taiwan.
